Robots from Silicon Valley-based OhmniLabs will sashay down the runway for the first time in fashion history at London Fashion Week on September 15, 2018, in a partnership between Los Angeles-based designer Honee and the House of iKons, one of England's premier fashion show producers. The robots will showcase House of Honee's one of a kind couture creations, purposely designed to showcase the Ohmni robots.
"My show with the House of iKons this September is named 'ÁI', in reference to Artificial Intelligence and also the play on the Vietnamese word ÁI for 'love', and the Chinese phonetic AI for 'love' as well," Honee said. "We're in the world of AI and loving it. I use fashion as the language to express the skins we are in. In my upcoming show, it's not about the future of robots, of a world unknown, but of the presence, the now."
Jared Go, Tingxi Tan, and serial entrepreneur Thuc Vu co-founded OhmniLabs in 2015.
The trio, robotics experts from Carnegie Mellon and Stanford, believe that personal consumer robots will make a positive impact on people’s everyday lives.
OhmniLabs is one of the leaders in domestic-use telepresence robots.
The House of Honee believes that fashion is sculptures in living form, not sacrificing comfort nor style for function and wearability.
The House of iKons focuses on launching emerging and innovative designers.
